Greetings Paddlers -

The latest issue of WaveLength Magazine -- CULTURES OF THE COAST -- is now
available in print at over 500 distribution sites around North America, and
at http://www.WaveLengthMagazine.com in PDF format.

This issue is dedicated to First Nations eco-cultural tourism in the Pacific
Northwest, celebrating 10,000 years of continuous coastal culture.

We look at examples of native-run projects, many centered around traditional
dugout canoe paddling, and provide a Directory of First Nations tourism
opportunities so you can pursue these experiences for yourself.

The great cedar canoes were central to life on the Pacific Northwest coast
for millennia, but the craft of canoe carving very nearly died out in the
last century. Now, thanks to a few who have carried on this skill and are
teaching it to others, there is a renaissance in the canoe culture.

NEXT ISSUE (Apr/May 2003): 'HOW TO...'
How to get into kayaking. How to advance your skills.
Practical. Useful. Informative.
Deadline Feb. 20th. Available April 1st.
