I agree with Evan - having some well-placed tarps around camp can make things much more comfortable. I've found that you can pick up some really well-made, inexpensive tarps by checking out some retailers fitted ground cloths....many times they have ground cloths for discontinued tents - usually about 1/3 the cost of a basic rectangular coated nylon tarp. Sometimes the unusual shapes are quite useful.
