 The gulf provides so many great paddling places it is hard to make specific
recommendations.

 Southwest Florida is a beautiful place to kayak. There are a lot of
waterways sequestered behind barrier and mangrove islands near Naples,
Venice and Ft. Myers.

 Caya Costa is quite isolated and undeveloped and has good camping.

 I hear that St. George's Island, near Apalachicola, is a good place to
paddle.

  If you are in Florida for a while you may want to check out my backyard
( living on the beautiful and protected spring fed Wekiva in Central
Florida }
