We've been using Seal Line Tapered bags on overnights for several years.
They have a valve at the tip that can be opened for compression. The tapers
allow stuffing the bow and stern very efficiently. We use them for softer,
lighter stuff like sleeping bags and clothing. The heavier stuff is packed
nearer the cockpit.
