I have a Sealion Fastnet (Perception) and am constantly losing rudder control because the piddly lines seem to constantly come loose form the small cleats provided, how can I re-enforce the system. I paddle in the Falkland Islands and am fairly constantly buffetted by strong winds and need my rudder. _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Steve, For fastening the ends of the cables to the rudder or foot peg sliders, I recommend using the crimps that have two holes. Pull the cable through one of the holes, and with that cable you pulled through, loop it back through the other hole and use a good crimping tool to smash the crimp down onto the cable securely. The loops are much stronger than the crimps that just have the cable feed straight in and an eyelet. I never had a loop I made come loose. Make sure any replacement cable is marine grade, not aircraft grade, because the aircraft grade stuff rusts too quickly and gets stiff.
