Be nice to see more context and less "[Moderator's Note: Content
unaltered. Excessive quoting (i.e. headers/footers/sig lines/extraneous
text from previous posts, etc.) have been removed. Please edit quoted
material in addition to removing header/trailers when replying to
posts.]" Frankly, the latter gets rather old.

Cheers,

In fact, it's rather refreshing to see. What really gets my goat is posts
(on other forums) where 10k of message is quoted, and at the bottom you get
a single comment, like, say, "Agreed."

It's not really any trick to edit posts when replying to them. Not doing so
is discourteous and lazy.

Well, I'm going to make an observation on this. I have tried to post a
couple of things in which I DID edit but only the header and footer because
the post I was responding to was only a few of sentences long and I got mine
returned to me. I had no idea what was expected and it just wasn't worth a
bunch of emails for something not all that worth the effort. I figured there
was no easy way to post what I wanted to reply to and just let it go.

OTOH, I really hate to get posts that quote back every word, that, if I'm
interested I already read it. As I distilled the message I'm replying to, I do
wish others would make some effort to cut down on the verbiage. I like context
but I don't need regurgitation of the whole meal, even in bite-size pieces.
When I was on the digest I just couldn't deal with all the repeats and quit
reading the list until I could go back on single posts.

We need some blance in this business.

Joan
