Last Saturday, nervous with my first salt water paddle, having been in some bigger waves than I was used to, I landed with the skeg deployed on my VCP AVOCET. Some dear buddies did a quick on-site repair, and then Wednesday I called the boat importer and they sent along a replacement cable. They gave me directions but I am not sure I exactly remember them precisely. If you have this boat and have done this repair, I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
