Q. for those who did try to swim or re-entry after wet exit, wearing either
Chotas or MEC with FJ. Do either of them take enough water (through FJ) to
make swim or re-entry difficult?

And another Q: would drtytop significantly help against leaking of FJ? I
assume there is little (or none) difference between no-lace-Chotas adn MEC
(somebody asked that), except for price - for those who wear drysuit. But
drysuit prices - you know... besides I like better versatility of FJ+Drytop
combination.

Yet one more Q: do they have actual gaskets, those MEC?

Alex.

No. Even when the Chotas were thoroughly bloated, we had no problems with
re-entry. Swimming, my feet were slowed down some, but not badly.

On your other issue: does a dry top keep water out of the FJ: yes and no.
No entry of water from the top, but if you take a really long swim, water
will infiltrate up. Takes a long time. I have surfed (which for me
involves a lot of wet exits and wading to shore!) for 2-3 hours, and did not
get much above my waist.
