To the person posting the peace paddle announcement, out of curiosity, a
couple of questions:

-- Portland, Oregon or Maine? I didn't see a state mentioned but I suspect
it is the latter because the mention of a Hawthorne bridge, that famous
author being a Northeasterner.

-- Your email ends with "This will be a first and fun...." What is the
"fun" aspect of it? I hope that if you do such a demonstration, you would
be a bit more somber about it. This involves issues of peace and war. Out
of respect for those who are seriously committed against war and for those
250,000 of our armed forces who are putting their lives on the line (and
their families and friends) don't treat this as a game. Your seeming lack
of seriousness does not do justice to anyone. BTW, it is not a "first"
either.
