Chuck, I'm certainly not going to ship my Gulfstream. :-) As long as you aren't chewing gum or wearing gloves, you'll be fine. Seriously though, his class is well worth it. I have taken it twice and a friend has taken it 5 times now. No we are not slow learners------at least I don't think so. Every time you take the class, you pick up another nugget of information that allows you to finesse the strokes a little better. Yesterday we were doing a rescue practice session with our local club. The forecasted winds of less than 10 knots became a 20 knot off shore wind gusting to 25-30. The strokes I've learned from Derek's classes, really came in handy. From a motionless position, it was very difficult to turn a boat around without using an extended sweep followed by an extended reverse sweep. Boat lean became very important. Those who didn't know how to do it, really struggled when turning their boats. Enjoy the class---it really is a good one.
