If we assume the weight is symmetrical, and the tip of the bow is on the front bar, and you are picking up at the end of the stern; you would be picking up a little over half the weight. It is a little over half because the center of mass is above the keel which is sitting on the bar and ground. T he fact that most kayaks are fuller in the rear than the front, also means more of the weight is toward the stern. Just a guess but you are probably picking up about 60% of the weight. The more of the kayak that extends over the bar at the bow, the less weight you lift. What I can't figure out, is how much weight I'm lifting at thew > stern, when the bow is already on the bar.
