Hello Peter,
donīt know about a trip Ireland - New World, but whats about this?

David W. Shaw, "Daring the Sea - The True Story of the First Men to Row
across the Atlantic Ocean", Birch Lane Press, Carol Publishing Group, New
York.

Two norwegian fishermen, rowd 1896 (!!!) in an open Dory (?) without rudder
or sails from NYC (6th june 1896) to he Scilly Islands (1st August).
Really an amazing story!!
