It's generally cheaper for a single kayaker to leave the car on the
mainland and pay stowage for the kayak.  For two or more kayakers,
drive onto the ferry, and the car fee + passenger is less than paying
for 2 tickets + 2 stowages....unless you have a tall rig or a long
boat, and have to pay oversize vehicle surcharges.
