That's what an article in today's Portland Oregonian says is forthcoming at Scappoose Bay Kayaking (http://www.scappoosebaykayaking.com/) this spring, along with microbrews. Some forty miles or so further down the Columbia, there are some out-of-sight, completely heart-unhealthy burgers at a small restaurant three blocks from the Cathlamet, WA, marina. Don't recall the name. And, another five-six miles, totally home-cooked cherry pie (with ice cream, of course) and coffee at the Skamokawa Paddle Center (also WA)(http://www.skamokawakayak.com/). Seems like this invites a progressive paddlefeast (not fest): sushi for breakfast in Scappoose Bay (near St. Helens, OR, not Scappoose), dinner in Cathlamet, and dessert in Skamokawa. I knew there would be better eating on the River ... some day ... if sea kayakers kept on using it. What's next? Maybe seal/oyster fricasee in Ilwaco? Calvin Trillin would be proud.
