[Paddlewise] New Boat Material?

Hey, folks.  I stopped by an Outfitter in the Carolina OBX last week,
and was just looking around while the rest of the family shopped at the
neighboring store.  The salesperson was talking to someone about a boat
that was using some new type of material - not glass, and not plastic,
but I didn't catch what it was.  The boat was a Perception boat, I
think.  At least, that's what they were standing next to.

I was going to hang around and see what it was all about, but the family
came and hog tied me and dragged me to the ice cream shop.  

I checked the Perception Web Site and didn't find anything about a new
material, nor did I send them an e-mail inquiry.  But, I wanted to ask
you folks what it's all about, since we have some outfitters on the
forum.  Did I hear correctly?  What is the new material? What are the
advantages/disadvantages, etc?
