Keep the same size skeg line but follow the advice from Peter to upgrade the deck lines and bungie to the largest that will fit the deck fittings. Avoid nylon line, as it stretches when wet. You'll want polyester, preferably kernmantle style. You can get this at any decent marine supply shop. I'm not aware of any special bungie material - I use what I can get from Mountain Equipment Coop.
