Has anyone used Salamander Gear's "Rim Rubber" to protect the edges of their paddle? I'm want to get a new Lendal pre-preg carbon bladed paddle, and I'm curious how it attaches and whether or not it effects the feel of the paddle in the water. Hello Josh, Lendal's newer paddles don't require the rim rubber. They used to delaminate, but the current carbon blade does not. I've been using a carbon Nordkapp fairly roughly for two (or is it three?) years now with no delamination. I installed the rim rubber - not a difficult job - when the paddle was new, but removed it during its first season when someone I trusted told me it was not necessary for this paddle. As for the feel of the paddle in the water -- I can't say it made much difference one way or the other.
