Paddlewisers, I just received an email asking me why I don't use drip rings, which was noted in my hundred miler trip report. I found the drip rings on paddles useless. They really didn't help keep the water off me, and they interfered slightly with extending the paddle. In calm conditions, I seem to stay dry without them anyway, and if it is rough or windy, drip rings are of no help at all. Besides, I prefer to grip a wet shaft. All of my drip rings went into the trash. Doug, I can't understand why anyone in California would be watching or playing baseball or hockey when there is so much wonderful sea kayaking to do here. Have the teams located here been winning?
