I've tried the new Active Touring model with a 2 piece all carbon shaft. Never before have I been able to accelerate as quickly as when using that paddle. It may be that the Epic paddle is better for my style (high angle). I've paddled most of the other name brands and plan to purchase the Epic soon to replace my current cheap Euro backup paddle. My primary paddle is a Greenland paddle. You cannot go wrong with th Epic. One note: This paddle is for strong paddlers. It really holds the water and could potentially wear someone out quickly. Consider the Relaxed Touring model if you want something awesome yet a bit less aggressive. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
