I had the same problem with many kayaks, so I decided to make mine with 
higher cockpit at front. That way my legs are nicely bent and I donīt put 
stress in my knee.

Some kayaks are very low profile to keep low resistance to wind. I rather 
have some wind pull but have my legs comfortable.
