I hope it's true, since my only defense against an attacking bear or cougar is a cheapo air horn that I carry with me. It's capable of emitting a very loud sound for all of about 10 to 15 seconds (gulp). Does anyone have any reassuring comments/experiences backing up whether this would really work???
