Excellent points Ron. I often forget that with my boat I can cinch down any
line I want, or cinch the hull/deck as tight as I want, with no ill effect.
This is untrue for most other boats. I imagine one must find a certain
tension for all and every line, and certainty very little with a long kayak
on some such car as a short-roofed sedan.
