Clear DayYes, after many months of dismal weather warmer temperatures and sunnier skies have finally prevailed around Vancouver Island. For me this meant, I've worked far too hard these last few months so it is time to take an afternoon or two off to go paddling and working at home or being your own boss I can do that. Yesterday, I took off paddling to finally enjoy some of the nice weather only find several other kayakers in the distance doing the very same thing. I had a great time, the ebb tide had just started giving me an opportunity to play in some current around the islands, then time to explore some of the bays and inlets I haven't been to in some time. All in all great afternoon. Then today, the weather was still holding and my wife had the day off, so we too our SOT's to enjoy the sun and waves . It was great, being on Vancouver Island we generally don't bring out SOT's during the winter unless you are really bundled up. This time, neoprene shorts and a t-shirt was the norm. The sun was warm, the waves we nice, but unfortunately small. Got to paddle through endless colonies of harbour seals, the way they were looking at us you could swear that they haven't seen a SOT before, just sea kayaks. As a result we were able to get some good pictures of them spy hopping and slapping away. But, alas none of this would have been possible if I didn't have my own business and work at home. So all you other paddlers in the same situation, get out there the water is beckoning you! I could continue but, I do not want to run on and on like another Victorian we all know and love. Regards, Kirby PS. Couldn't help it Doug, I know you were busy working in your cramped office. hehhehhehehhehhehhh COASTAL WATERS RECREATION www.coastalwatersrec.com [demime 0.92b removed an attachment of type image/jpeg which had a name of Clear Day Bkgrd.JPG] *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
