seriously, was to see if she could lift one end of my British heavy. Helps
to have one's priorities straight in life.<<

Jolie then said:
>Oh, c'mon Doug! Yer such an animal, you don't need any help!<

No, no, no...I was an animal in my _past_ life, a big brown bear actually,
until I was recycled by the universe into my current state as a human. There
is an atavistic preponderance of one or two memories from my past life,
though that life was cut short when a trigger-happy Alaskan kayaker shot me
dead after failing to properly interpret my non-violent, territorial
posturing body-language. I forgave him immediately with my last bear-breath
and thus achieved good Karma, which meant of course that I was reborn as a
resident of Canada. :-)

Not sure what I'll be next time around. Probably some kayak-widow, or maybe
worse -- one of them sophisticated Puget Sound, San Juan bound paddlers with
their lightweight Carbonfiber paddle, Kevlar kayak with kayak-lifting
straps, wearing Tevas, skimpy Quick-Dry shorts, poly "T-shirt" and an
expensive zippered Gortex paddling jacket tucked under the bungies shooting
whales with my Mega-pixel digital camera listening to resident pods with my
latest underwater sound-amplification device.

Well, at least its only my kayak I drag around caveman-style, as opposed to
my attaching wife. Blame it on developmental degradation due to a difficult
delivery, though I did come attached to my mother.
