Change to the Skeena run in Jasper, overnight in Prince George, and prepare yourself for the most spectacular part of the journey, down the Bulkley and Skeena Rivers to Prince Rupert. Awesome, and it cuts out a large hole in the proposed itinerary: there is no ferry between Vancouver and Price Rupert. Getting from Vancouver to Port Hardy, where the ferry to PRince Rupert originates, by bus would be a pain, and would probably add at least another day to the trip.
