All mutations are random. The vast majority are fatal. Think monkeys at 
typewriters. One mutation in a billion might provide a survival benefit. In our 
short little lives, it's hard to imagine that many mutations, but this old planet 
had been at the business of evolution for a long time.

The sound emitters don't work at all in my experience. Back to the 
typewriters...
