When: Labor Day Weekend (Aug 29 thru Sep 1, 2003)

Special Events:

Supervised Surf Play in the Gulf, with special tips and assistance given
to those who don^Rt have surf experience and perhaps need assistance or
help.

Basic Instruction in kayaking strokes and braces, rescues and re-entry,
rolling, and surfing^E.with both paid and volunteer instructors.

Guided flat water trips

to scenic spots in the Laguna Madre with special emphasis on bird
watching

Year-end close-out pricing

on all Performa demo kayaks with a general swap meet for people who want
to swap/sell their own kayaks and gear.

Introduction and demo of newly designed Performa and Tabasco kayaks (S
and L series) all new for 2004

Competition:

1-Tandem Race: pick a partner out of a hat and compete in this marathon
of races (between 2 tandems, with winner to challenge the remaining
racers) till the final tandem wins. (2 mile course)

2-Single Sea Kayak race (3 mile course) open to all kayaks and kayakers

3-Rolling Contest: Who can complete the most rolls without stopping, and
who can perform the most different kinds of rolls.

4-Most creative finger paint decoration of a kayak (using washable
colors)^Eall supplies provided to teams

5-Most elaborate sand sculpture related to kayaking

6-Kite making contest

7-Treasure Hunt for buried treasure following a secret pirate map

Party-Time:

1-Saturday night Group Dinner/Bonfire on the beach with

Recipe swap for the best ^Scamp recipe^T suitable for kayak trips

Contest for best tasting pot-luck dish brought to the dinner

Contest for best bonfire story of the most interesting kayak
trip/adventure

2-Sunday night Group Dinner at a locally famous seafood restaurant with
presentations made by expert Texas kayakers describing their operations
and services available to the public
