Thanks, but the Guide is a different filter, though superficially it resembles the Explorer. The Explorer has a built-in backflushing and cleaning mechanism, which is the main reason I purchased it. A Google search found a message from someone else with an Explorer that needed a new cartridge, who said Katadyn merely offered him a discount on the purchase of a Hiker model.
