(Tried to post this from home earlier, but it didn't take.)

We have used Bite Blocker in northern Ontario. It is DEET-less but
tends to be aromatic. It truly seems to repel mosquitoes, although (like
DEET?)it has little apparent effect on flies. I have never done a
controlled test to compare whether Bite Blocker needs to be applied more
often than DEET, but it really is quite powerful, and I invite others to
see for themselves. (I have no interest in this product other than as a
consumer.)

recent research has shown that catnip makes an excellent skeeter
repellent. I believe that an extract is due out soon.

But then what do you use for cat repellent?

Useless trivia: catnips' affects do nothing for kittens, only adult
cats.

So in the Rockies, does catnip replace mosquitoes with mountain lions?
