3 non-answers, but some feedback on what I've liked in the covers I do
own.

I've got 5 canoes/kayaks with covers.

The 3 canoes all have covers from "The Bag Lady"

have held up well.  Alas I don't think she makes kayak bags.

I have a terry cloth cover for my old surf ski.  Dakine made it.  I
really don't like the bag.  It slips on like a giant sock, which is fine
if the boat is dry but annoying when the boat is wet.  The terry cloth
also hasn't held up well and snags on the boats fittings when I put it
on.

I have a nice zipper bag for my surf ski, the bag is specifically for the
boat and I highly doubt it would fit other boats.

on the outside and has a "soft felt" lining.  It also has a full length
zipper, that starts from both ends so I can zip from both ends to the
rudder, leaving the rudder exposed.  So far I'm very happy with this bag,
although I don't know how long it will last as the bag is an almost
perfect fit for the boat and I would have liked an  extra inch or two in
length.  I would use this bag as a model as I hunted for a bag.

Oh, yes, the other kayak covers I've seen are pricey.  I paid about $100
for each canoe cover, $35 (on ebay) for the dakine cover, and $80 for the
surf ski specific bag.
