[Paddlewise] Georgia Sea Islands

Any Peach State residents (or visitors) who can offer some advice? We're
planning to head down to Georgia for a long weekend on Labor Day weekend.
We're leaving from "The North State" - North Carolina. Would like to plan a
weekend where we do some paddling, but also get to look into some local
culture (I've heard there are some Gullah cultural sites?). We'd like to
limit driving as much as possible, so not sure if some of the islands around
Savannah would be a good choice, or if we're better off heading down to the
Cumberland Island area.

If anybody has recommendations for good day paddles, good motels or
campgrounds, good places to check out music or museums, or other interesting
things, I'd appreciate it a lot if you'd let us know.

Thanks a lot,

Dee
