I had the same dream scenario, but decided most of the inside was dispensable, so I'm hoping to do just from Port Hardy around the outside and back in to Anacortes, WA. I was close to doing this a few years ago and did some planning, but had to abort. Maybe next year... One decent reference may be: Exploring Vancouver Island's West Coast by Don Douglass, Reanne Hemingway-Douglass I believe there is a companion volume for the inside. These are written for cruising boats, so much of the emphasis on quality of anchorage is irrelevant. There is still a lot of description of the conditions on various routes that seems to be useful, and the distances on the water between various stops are listed, though a paddlers route will often be shorter. Kirby's maps have better detail of points of interest. Mike Wagenbach __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
