Looking for more information on surge wakes (aka Favre waves; aka undular bores) such as the one Liem Bahneman detailed here a couple weeks ago. Best source I have located is a PDF file of a Power Point presentation ( http://chl.wes.army.mil/research/navigation/GulfportWorkshop/StephenMaynord1.pdf ) , which has some cool photos of a surge wake on a narrow ship channel -- throws rock onto the adjacent dike road! Google on "Favre waves" gives a couple good hits, and then tunnels out on hand motions from the Packer QB ("Favre waves at the crowd ..."). Any leads?
