Rotation (of the shaft) is still there, as I understand - just can be done
using other joints/movements rather than solely by wrist rotation.

This same technique can also be used with a low angle paddling stroke. The
wrist-forearm connection stays straight. The paddle is rotated by raising
the forearm of the control hand by bending at the elbow.

Using this technique, there is no need to ever use the "motorcycle throttle"
movement that so many of us were originally taught.
