mack, do go to the backboater group as well, there has been recent discussion
comparing the puffin/aleut/yukon.

i was out in my puffin sport kayak this weekend - it's 10.5' - got it before
it "growed" to be a 12-footer (unfortunately).

i think it would help if you would tell us what you want out of a kayak. do
you just want something to putz around in...on flat water?

the comment that the puffin is like a canoe, is valid....but that's not
necessarily a bad thing.

i have hip arthiritis and it is very easy for me to get in and out of this
boat. with your handicaps, i think that's an important consideration, so do pay
attention to cockpit size as you look around.

since i had my two doggies with me I didn't put the deck cover on...but it
does "feel" more like a "real" kayak when the deck is in place. but frankly, my
dear..... :)

Alv is having is annual demo day some time next may in new hampshire..... but
it is possible to find demo boats at a discount price. check out the
www.pakboats.com website.
