You occasionally see orcas around the Scottish coast, but they are
unfortunately rare, and I have no idea what they eat! We have had a bumbper
summer for basking sharks (Cetorhinus  maximus) though, some pics of a
little one on the web from a july trip around Coll & Tiree:

Big fishes. They may eat plankton, but plenty of adrenaline when a 20ft+
fish swims under your boat ... paddle parked, cockpit open, and a non
waterproofed digicam in hand ...

I prefer a synthetic bag for kayaking, I need my sleep too much to lose it
to damp down. My bag packs in a drybag through a round valley hatch. If I'm
cold I put it in a gortex bivi bag. If I'm really cold I put in a fleece
liner.
