Tomorrow at 6:00 am I leave for a week of paddling on the North Carolina coast. Most of our camping will be on sand. It just dawned on me that my standard, thin tent stakes won't hold well. I don't have time to get to a store much less order from a website/catalog. Can any of you really wise paddlers suggest something I can manufacture from materials I already have around the house that I can use as sand stakes? What if I took plastic grocery bags, filled them with sand and buried them. Would that work?
