Just got back from a great 9 day kayaking trip through the Atchafalaya Basin scouting out scenic places to paddle from Henderson near Highway 10 down to Morgan City. I was very impressed with the wide variety of paddling available: lakes, rivers, bayous, and canals. All relatively close but offering great wilderness isolation coupled with majestic towering Cypress and Live Oak trees that are many hundreds of years old. And of course, there is a lot of history to see in that area as well....cool colorful cajun culture too.It was only 475 miles from Corpus Christi and fantastic paddling. If anyone is interested in doing a trip, I'll give you all my tips. 2 albums of pictures at http://community.webshots.com/user/johnsonkw1-date ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Send instant messages to anyone on your contact list with MSN Messenger 6.0.
