I don't know about the Pentax, although it seems to be billed as "water resistant". I have a Canon S300 with a Canon made waterproof housing. This works very well, I've had it dragging in the water beside the boat after being tossed around in surf and it is hold up well. The housing is relatively inexpensive and provides full access to all controls. The S300 is an old model now, but newer models such as the S400 have similar housings available.
