Finally, summer comes to an end here in the Pacific Northwest. After 5 months of terrible weather, including endless sunny dry days, flat water, and little wind, and intense low has moved into the area bring fabulous marine weather. Dianne can put here kayak away (just kidding) now, as the better paddling season starts. Hopefully this Pacific disturbance will last through the long Thanksgiving weekend here in BC. A weekend of Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, and do-or-die paddling in the wind and waves - oh how glorious. And to be out on the ocean, the rain beating frantically on double-thick drysuit shoulders, in the swell where saline liquid has some verticality to it finally...yes, liquid, steep liquid, almost forgotten what it's like. I'm so excited I can't sleep.
