Supposedly in a folding kayak with a sail and he lost control somehow. He
was rescued by helicopter.

I don't know if this happened last week or 10 years ago. Does anyone know
anything about the incident.

Just curious.

Also: Just spend a very pleasant weekend in St Michaels on the Eastern Shore
of the Chesapeake. You could kayak for for a very long time down there and
not cover the same water twice.

There was an incindent les than a year ago (though my feeling of time is
subjective). He was on a day-trip, AFAIK, used his cellophone and was
rescued about 48 hours later. Didn't have a VHF radio. Was lucky to have a
connection via cellophone - they are useless farther than a few miles
offshore. I don't recall any details about his kayak or sail rig. Most
likley didn't have either outriggers, or proper rudder, or both (since
didn't have a VHF).
Alex.
