At this point, I want to add the story of the guy, who hiked in grizzly country with bear "repellent". A bear charged at him and he used the spray. With the effect that because the wind was coming from the opposite direction, he was spraying himself. to tthat effect, that he himself was in so much pain, that he was screaming at the top of his lungs, and wildly moving. That scared the bear off:)True story, the guy was our leader on a 12-day hike in the ANWAR in Alaska, where we also encountered a grizzly. but the size of our group made her and her cubs move away from us.
