-----Original Message----- From: Michael Daly [SMTP:michaeldaly_at_rogers.com] BTW, the last time I was on board the USS Constitution in Boston, it looked pretty much "perfect". However, there are only a few board feet of wood in that ship that are original. Essentially, the whole vessel has been rebuilt several times over since it was first constructed. *************************************************************************** If you ever visit the Constellation in Baltimore, don't believe the story that it is the original ship. The original, a President-class frigate, was basically scrapped in the mid-19th century and rebuilt as a corvette. Only a small part of the original ship was used in the new ship, mainly to preserve the fiction that the old Constellation was simply being modernized, to get around a Congressional prohibition against new construction.
