Have you heard about the guy (somehow these things mostly happen to guys,
which probably explains why so many people like girls) that lost all his
gear thanks to his GPS?

Misplacing gear in his kayak had been an ongoing problem until he suddenly
realised that he could pack his gear and take note of it's GPS location
inside the kayak. To find anything, he would simply have to check it's
location with his handy GPS unit and then open the appropriate hatch. This
he carefully did at the launch site the other day and happily set off for an
all-day paddle to his favourite campsite on a deserted island.

Having arrived at the destination site in time for supper, he checked his
notes for the location of his cooking gear. He was horrified to discover
that the GPS reading showed it was all still back at the launch site.
Donning his flashing head-lamp which was thankfully in the cockpit, he
paddled all night back to the launch site, arriving at dawn. The gear was
nowhere to be found anywhere on the beach. Frustrated he slipped into the
nearby woods for a leak - and to ponder what to do next.

Back at the kayak, he noticed that his kayak was heavier than usual as he
dragged it up the beach. Could you believe it, while in the woods, someone
had replaced all his gear! He knew it must have happened, because everything
was about a meter from where he had packed it - according to the GPS anyway.
Talk about grateful!

Michael

This would have to be one of the best tall stories I've heard in a longtime.

Did he fairies in the forest as well?
