>Geee, there wouldn't have been a problem if she had not been wearing her pfd. >Sorry, I couldn't resist :-)) >Scott >So.Cal. I recently replaced my worn out foam padded "Palm" pfd with an inflatable "Stormy Seas". The old one had gone past its sew together-again-date, and the cloth was looking faded and past it. The new one is a V100, see it at http://www.stormyseas.com.au/pfd/v100.html. I had a few pockets spread over the front of the jacket, and d-rings on the shoulders for leashing specs and hats. So far I am very pleased. It is less bulky than a foam block pfd, if a little heavier due to the CO2 mechanism. It seems much less restrictive, and less prone to causing chafing under the arms, which was a problem with the old one. So, Scott, if you don't like pfd's, but think you'd better wear one anyway at times, consider a less bulky inflatable. When not inflated, you might be able to dive under breaking waves more easily.
