Alex, The girl is right - take the money and run! There is no logic in the airline charges. They just need to get enough money from enough people to keep flying. The systems they come up with are so complex and disconnected that you can't try to reverse engineer an underlying rule. That and each employee can pretty much do what they darn well please to you when it comes right down to it. For example, if I fly from my city, Cincinnati, to some city, it costs me MORE than if I drive to Dayton (40 miles) get on the SAME PLANE, ride the plane to Cincinnati, and take the same trip (and return.) Also, remember that airline employees are people too, and if you treat them nice, they treat you nice. If you don't, they don't. As they say, you catch more with honey than vinegar. You are aware that the rings of Saturn are really made of lost airline luggage, aren't you?
