Helley Hansen has a new product out, apparently cheaper than the Mustang
Air-Force or the other one (the ones WestMarine carry). Haven't seen the
real thing yet up close and personal.

I'm in the market for a new life vest with harness capability for a more
rugged set-up than my current Mustang Air-Force with narrow webbing (I'll
pass the old one on to my wife). I intend to do some international
inter-island paddling in March. As the ferry service will be down for a ship
refit I may be proceeding in less than optimal sea states (depending on your
POV :-) ) so want to get geared-up.

Mustang has a nice accessory pouch (the MA6000). I picked up a couple
(previously only available to the CG) and a new Wenoka Titanium divers knife
(to replace a recent theft) that fits into a tear-off pouch cover for
instant access. The entire pouch will withstand extreme pressure on the snap
locks, but only releases off the fourth side of the fasteners with a hand
pull upward (called Pull-The-Dot). Neat stuff for the gear junky, of which I
qualify.
