Unfortunately, with crossing like this, the tides tend to be perpendicular to the direction of travel. We did get a boost on the last part of the last leg, but most of the time the tide neither helped nor hindered other than pushing the lines into slight curves. Winds were just enough to ease the summer heat, but little enough that it didn't make us work any harder. We didn't work too hard, just kept a comfortable pace so sore muscles were not a problem, we were just tired from waking up early and getting home late.
