Hi,

I assume we are discussing the cross-boat rescue in which the
capsized boat is drawn across the cockpit of the rescuing boat.

I agree that deck lines are helpful but not essential for this
rescue. I have long arms, which also facilitates drawing the capsized
boat across the cockpit of my boat.

Nothing has been said here about the "victim", who should be pushing
the stern of the capsized boat to assist getting it across my boat,
and if further assistance is required the victim should proceed to
the other side of my boat, take the bow of the capsized boat, plant
feet on my hull and help pull the capsized boat across my boat and
assist in rocking out the water remaining in the stern of the
capsized boat. Deck lines are not essential here. The "victim" is
supposed to be a participant in the recovery effort.

I seem to be missing the problem somehow.
