With 40 deg temps and melting, I'm starting to think about summer trips. I may get a chance to make some weekend (or Fri - Sun) runs up to the Bayfield, WI / Apostle Islands area. I'm curious if anyone could suggest some itineraries in that area (or other areas on the south shore of Lake Superior) that include 2 to 2 1/2 days of paddling - either overnights or several day paddles....any favorite spots to explore would be great! Keith: Definitely visit the Apostles at least once. If you do, Devil's Island has nice sea caves on the notheastern side and a cozy campsite on the south. There are a number of campsites on other islands as well. I like Superior at the end of May. The water is still pretty cold (so take precautions), air temp is often delightful, and flies and mosquitoes have not been an issue. Reserving campsites is also a lot easier early in the season.
